All the pain and misery she has been through makes her the woman she is destined to be, and she is proud of what she has become. This is a beautiful book about a woman's struggle dealing with new countries By deanna This is a beautiful book about a woman's struggle dealing with new countries, difficult family members and trying to survive. From reading the book, I could see how important Fahimeh's kids are to her and that she would do anything for them. It is a quick read but you will gain a respect for the author's resilience and ability to survive everything and anything that gets thrown at her.

Eden has just been summoned to grant three wishes to the hapless man who found her lamp. Eden’s mischievous streak comes out immediately when she takes the wisher’s request a little too literally.Eden feels a little antagonistic about being a genie because she knows her tenure will last until she has granted wishes to a thousand people. Eden wants nothing more than to live on Earth amongst people, and when she sees an opportunity to do so, she seizes it- against the wishes of her handlers.Eden makes some friends and is beginning to enjoy her time living as a typical teenager, but she also finds herself in the middle of an ideological battle between genie alumnae. At the end of a genie’s tenure, she has the opportunity to go out into the world. The ex-genies are divided into two camps: one group is grateful for the opportunity and is fiercely loyal to the coordinators of the genie program. The other group feels resentful and considers being a genie to be oppressive and a form of slavery. The two groups are both trying to gain control of Eden- and more importantly- her lamp.Eden’s Wish was an interesting book. The story was fast paced and full of action. I especially enjoyed how the plot was infused with humor. From the very beginning when Eden fills a man’s home with hot fries (French fries) to her attempts at pretending to be a Swedish exchange student, this was a very funny book.I would recommend Eden’s Wish. Eden is a likeable character, and she is easy to relate to. She struggles with many of the same issues as her human counterparts; she is searching for her place in life, and wants to fit in with the other kids her age. This book will appeal to middle grade readers, who will appreciate the humor and might not even notice the lessons about appreciation, friendship, and gratitude.I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

She is 12 years old Eden and is already fed up of being just a wish-granting machine eager to be free of the lamp. All 12 years if her life she had spent as a princess inside the lamp with her two masters Goldie and Xavier, only getting to go out when she is summoned for a granting. One whiff of Earth's majesty and she is mesmerized and grows desperate to escape ..... but needs 999 granting for her freedom.The story is rather predictable and filled with all the tropes you find in the middle grade category Kids, I think would appreciate this story way better than me. A fast and easy read, though you can very much sympathizes with Eden't plight. She is a child, who loves to discover new things. She wants to see the world is always taught about. She has a kind soul, is energetic and has a wise mind but sometimes came off as a brat, going of against her teachings and rebelling.It is rather enlightening to see the world through Eden's eyes, her time at school, meeting Tyler and Sasha and about mortal live in general is interesting to read about. Of course she is still very young so learning about the consequence of wish-granting, the history of the magic lamp and the presence of darkness in a world she only perceived as light comes of very hard for her. She goes through profound changes through her escapades and is rewarded for it in the end as well

By Tessa Emily Hall I don't typically read MG books; however, as soon as I dove into the story of "Eden's Wish", the fun protagonist and lighthearted writing style had me eager to read more books in this genre. The premise of the story is what captured me from the beginning--and once I was swept into the journey, it was almost impossible to put it down! It reminded me of genie version of "A Little Mermaid" (which just so happens to be my favorite Disney movie).Although this could be considered a fantasy book, it takes place in modern day. (Love stories that combine fantasy with reality!) The journey the protagonist takes and the questions she wrestles with are ones that most tweens will be able to identify with--such as the longing to be accepted and to find a place where you belong."Eden's Wish" would make the Christmas perfect gift for a tween, or anyone who enjoys reading a book that takes them on an imaginative and fast-paced adventure from beginning to end. About the Author

Bruce Hale has written and illustrated over thirty-five books for kids, including Clark the Shark; Clark the Shark Dares to Share; the award-winning Chet Gecko Mystery series; Snoring Beauty, one of Oprah’s Recommended Reads for Kids; and the School for S.P.I.E.S. series. In his free time, Bruce enjoys hiking, watching movies, and making music. He lives in Santa Barbara, California, with his wife, dog, and many hats. You can catch him online at www.brucehale.com.

Guy Francis spends most of his time drawing, painting, and drawing some more. By BrittyMama This was my first introduction to Clark the Shark and I am excited to read others in the series. Clark is busy preparing for his very first sleepover with friends- but is a little anxious because not only is he afraid of the dark, but he doesn't want his friends to find out. His friends arrive and are cool and confident (certainly they are not at all afraid like Clark). After the daytime fun of his party winds down and the group settles in for bed he must face his fear and hope that his friends don't laugh at him- until- he discovers perhaps he's not alone in his hesitation.This is a great book for kids who are afraid of the dark because they can understand that they aren't alone in their fears and that they can get through the challenge of sleeping in the dark. Perhaps the song Clark makes up can help them!

Mr. Hale does a good job of describing the average young elementary school student’s life in the books. Clark is a very realistic character. I really like the humor in the illustrations (the game “Whirlpool” instead of “Twister”). In this book Clark has o deal with his fear of the dark. While this isn’t a Halloween book, it does deal with a subject little kids have to face on Halloween and I think it would be helpful to get kids to talk about their fears. *NOTE* I got this book in exchange for an honest review

By James N Simpson This is a rather large sized picture book with a pretty cool title and cover illustration. It certainly got my attention. I was looking for picture books to read at storytime in the library but this ended up being a bit wordy towards the end. The basic plot revolves around a shark named Clark who lives in a house with his mum, wears clothes, eats human type junk food (chips, pizza, cakes, softdrink), which is probably a good thing when you consider his friends are fish he would normally have on the menu. He has toys, sleeps in a bed, so he's basically a human kid drawn as a shark as are the other sea creatures. Basically he's having a sleepover I guess in the equivalent of the back yard for us non ocean dwellers, but he's afraid of the dark. He of course doesn't want his friends to know so in order to cope hums a rhyme. The rhyme isn't the greatest to be honest. Of course his phobia is about to get worse when the other fish start telling ghost stories (well ocean themed parodies of human urban legends).The illustrations (drawn by Guy Francis) lifted the story, you can't really fault them, they are cartoon like, colourful and fun. The cover image is a good representation of what's found on the pages inside.

Learning that tangrams can form animals, people, buildings, and dozens of other topics, the idea of creating a competitive tangram game hit him. This resulted in the game Tangram Fury. By then, the puzzle bug had fully hit him. He spent his spare time creating new tangram puzzles covering many themes. There's nothing wrong with that but it's a rare writer that can merge them both to satisfy both groups (and those that like both).Don't get me wrong, it's plenty hot - some might say scorching but there's plenty of sweetness about.Both characters care for each other and there's plenty of ups and downs to keep you invested. The setup (a novice wants to try BDSM) allows for a great entry for people new to the genre. Experienced practitioners will appreciate the author's knowledge of The Scene.Too many other authors think BDSM is just spanking, and inflicting pain and don't understand the mentality behind it. This author does - kudos for her research / knowledge.Well worth the read and you'll click the last page with a smile on your face.Off to read more from this author. =)

Each book I read of Emma Fawkes just blows me away.Olivia Radcliffe who was a beautiful curvy woman had some hurt in her life. With a father that abandon her and her mother and a bad relationship it left some emotional scares. She had this wall built up that she did not want anyone male to get thru. She protected her heart with all she had.Parker Jackson was this handsome, sexy, rich guy that was use to getting his way. Girls fell at his feet, so when this girl did not hesitate to shoot him down he could not help but like the challenge. He wanted her badly. Don’t think because Parker had a cushion life that he did not have some hurt and fears.The shock that Parker and Olivia must of felt to find out they were going to be step siblings. Not only that there were this chemistry that they could not deny. I love that both were warned to stay way from each other. But as you can already imagine it is not going to happen. Things get hot and heavy. Oh yeah, Emma Fawkes does not disappoint. *smile*Don’t think just because things get hot and heavy that there are not a few road blocks along the way. There are challenge they must face to find their way to each other. The problem is do they both want the same thing?

Both of them have gone through something big with a parent. For Parker his mom was killed in a car accident, so his view of women is a little skewed. For Olivia her dad left them when she was just an infant, so she doesn't know a lot about picking the right man. The first man Olivia ever fell for was a life long friend when it finally happened it was a drunken one night hook-up. That helps to build the walls that keep Olivia safe and everyone else at arms length. The next man we hear about Olivia meeting up with is none other than Parker himself. Parker is one of those guys that Olivia knows will never be serious about her so it is best to keep him at arms length. The problem with that is their parents have some very shocking news.Parker likes to play the field and makes no excuses about it. The one thing Parker really cares about is his dad so when he asks him to come home early for thanksgiving to meet the woman he has been dating Parker see no problem with this. The problems come after he shows up, he and Olivia class from the word sugar. Parker isn't sure what to make of this woman no woman has said things to him like she does, and definitely no woman has turned him down before.In this book there is an instant attraction that both characters are trying to fight. Their parents are against them being together for totally different reasons. This book is so good it is about finding that perfect person for you and really deciding if you are willing to fight for what you really want. I want to tell you all the twists and turns this couple has but as a reader I think you would like to experience them for yourself. I will say this book will have you hooked from the first word to the very end. I would highly recommend it.

Romantic and Heartwarming Story By April R Symes What a sweet and romantic story about two people who meet and didn’t know they are soon to be step siblings. Olivia and Parker are about to graduate college and meet at the grocery market after coming home to meet each other’s parent’s. They are attracted to one another but just let the moment go-Olivia because she thinks Parker is a jerk and Parker because he doesn’t know what Olivia’s name is –soon they realize who they are to one another and the “games” begin.Olivia has been hurt in the past by guy she thought she loved so she has never let a guy get close and here is Parker- she comes to realize he is a good guy; Parker comes to see Olivia is a really nice girl and he wants her in his life almost immediately—but things happen that cause Olivia to doubt he really wants her around. Twists and turns caused me to be on the edge of my seat until the last page—I loved Parker because he was a good guy and there was things in his past that caused him to pull back from Liv and oh Liv, she had so much confusion and pain in her past when it came to trust and believing in Parker --the end of this story is a so heartwarming. Keep some tissues handy. I enjoyed this story and cannot wait to read another book by this author.My rating: 4.5 stars *******A gifted copy was provided by the author for my honest review****

By Dale Suiter Roadschooling Ryan, Learn As We Go is a heart-warming account of a mother and son spending a school year traveling across Canada, the U.S. and Mexico. At his mother's suggestion, Ryan agreed to substitute his junior year of high school for life on the road, traveling in their VW van. Careful to ensure that he would be ready for his senior year, Ryan's mother Mary, the author, carefully chose his reading assignments according to the roads they were traveling. They supplemented textbook work with visits to museums and parks and made a point to seek out friends and even strangers along the way who would enrich their experiences. However, according to Ryan's journal entries included in the book, it is evident that the journey itself may have been the greatest teacher. During their time on the road, this 17 year old learned how to make new friends, trust strangers, find the good in others, and a multitude of life's lessons that can't be taught in a school. The author's excitement for introducing her son to the wonders of travel is evident as she eloquently describes the places and people they met along the way. The most important lesson of all was that the mother and son learned to be friends.Roadschooling Ryan is a must read for anyone interested in travel and especially for parents interested in home schooling, taking their kids on a road trip or just wanting to build a better relationship with their child. I consider myself one of the fortunate ones to have met the author and her son along their journey and my life has been richer for it.

The love that teaches us to be vulnerable, curious, and ask questions and be met with the truth. This story also tells the truth about changes that occur in a young girls body and how it really is. I personally met the Beautiful writer Debra in Thailand on one of our favorite beaches. She is a true inspiration at to everyone she meets. Michael Chissick has been teaching yoga to children in primary mainstream and special needs schools as part of the curriculum since 1999. He is a leading specialist in teaching yoga to children with Autistic Spectrum Disorders and continues to train and mentor students who want to teach yoga to children.www.yogaatschool.org.uk

It is a marvelous teaching and parenting resource and is easy to follow and fully adaptable for anyone wanting to introduce yoga and movement to children. The stories are carefully crafted and are full of beautifully descriptive language and delightful illustrations that brings the characters and scenes to life. The positive affirmations will have children feeling up beat, confident and able to respect the uniqueness in themselves and all others. As an extra bonus, there are free down loadable posters of the various sun sequences presented in the book.
