I love tales where characters chase their dreams, which for Chloe evolved around fashion. She gets to see a variety of departments in a fashion house, as well as a variety of characters. Her fellow interns are competitive, some with a bit of a mean streak, but by working hard and being good Chloe is rewarded with amazing opportunities.I like how modest she is, how she doesn't always think her ideas are good, but how she ends up being the one pointed out as having potential. Life isn't straight forward, but Chloe meets each problem face on and, sometimes with much needed friendly advice, she conquers them. This is a feel good book which everyone, regardless of how into fashion you are, will enjoy.I received a copy from NetGalley for an honest review on my blog Nayu's Reading Corner http://nayusreadingcorner.blogspot.co.uk/2015/10/chloe-by-design-by-margaret-gurevich.html

By Charity Martinez For full review please search for "5 Girls Book Reviews" in a search engine and/or Facebook "5 Girls Book Reviews"REVIEW BY: Arianna, age 12 years, 10 monthsMAY CONTAIN SPOILER:This book was wonderful! It shows how stressful, challenging, and rewarding the fashion world can be.My favorite parts are the outfits because such detail and thought went into describing them. I think that the designs are beautiful and one of a kind.My favorite character is Laura because she is silly, works hard, and just makes me feel good.

Interesting Art Plus A Positive Book for Younger Readers By Sunhi Laub For disclosure purposes: I received this book from Netgalley for review consideration.I love YA books, and I love fashion drawings, so I was really excited about this book, but also a little worried. Most YA books that feature fashion a good deal nowadays also seem mean. While I don't mind that, at times it can get wearing. I was so pleasantly surprised by this book!Chloe, the main character, is the winner of a show for young adults that appears to be much like Project Runway. I can see now that that contest features in a different book, but you will not be at a loss if you haven't read it.Instead of being smug or proud of that win, she instead wonders if her work is good enough. She goes to intern with a design house through until New York Fashion Week, and she rooms with other interns and learns in the ins and outs of several teams within the house she works at. Chloe works hard in the book, often putting work before other more fun things and it pays off for her. In fact, shockingly for a YA book nowadays, she chooses to deny a chance at furthering a romance because it is getting in the way of her work and her opportunity. (I loved Chloe just a little bit during that moment.) Interestingly, Chloe's story follows the creation of a line of work and really allows the reader to see how a single person can influence the work of a design house while collaborating with others to create a several strong themes within a fashion line.Ordinarily, when I read YA books nowadays, I often say they are only for teens and, normally, for slightly older teens. I would definitely NOT mind letting a younger child have this book. I know that as a 10 year old myself when I was younger, I would have adored this book. I know Chloe doesn't face any serious problems, but it's just such a neat slice of life book for a girl who might wish to be involved in the fashion industry.(Really neat art too. Loved the drawings.)
