Some people say it goes by fast, while some people say the first year lasts an eternity. No matter how it feels to you, the first year of your child’s life is a big deal! There are thousands of parenting books out there, and while a book can never fully prepare you for caring for a child, this offers a candid look at doing so. Becoming a Father offers a first time dad's look at raising an infant while teetering around a sometimes unhappy partner and still looking forward to the slightly easier years to come. There are a lot of tips regarding money saving and budget friendly ideas. For example, if trusted family members or friends offer childcare assistance, take them up on it. You will thank yourself when you save an arm and a leg on day care! In addition to suggestions, this book covers sleep-training, breast-feeding and beginning your baby on pureed foods.Geoffreys does not hold back, he takes an honest approach at introducing parenting to those new to the game. One of my favorite ideas is the idea that the father should be putting in just as much effort as the mother is. Just because there's an ideology of "Maternal Instinct" does not mean that Mom should be stuck doing all of the work! For anyone confused, or looking for ideas on how to care for and entertain your baby, this book offers step by step solutions and then some. I think this is a must-read for anyone who has a large role in a child's life, or who plans on having a baby in the future. Though I have received a copy of this book for testing purposes, this review is written based on my unbiased opinion.

Easy to understand By Analise This book is really helpful with understanding the different challenges that come with the first few months of being a new parent and how to confront those challenges with positive solutions. One thing I liked a lot about the book is it gives you a list off things you will definitely need for your baby and a list of things you won't need no matter who tells you otherwise. I also like the way the author describes what its like for the baby as well, with all its rapid growth and personality development. I would recommend this book to all first time fathers.

Thank God I did not pay for it. This "book" contains some obvious tips and tricks for raising a baby that everybody already knows, or can figure out by themselves. For example, it presents you with the trick of "buy some toys", or why not "tickle" your baby so it giggles... Come on!?As if this was not enough, when reading it on my Kindle device, the "book" ends at position 786 out of the total 1024, equivalent to 77% of the piece. Thus, the conclusion comes after having read 77% of the pamphlet, the rest is end notes and advertisement for other products!I feel truly sorry for those of you who might actually have paid for this "product". It should not be a penny more than 99 cent (if not free)..Don't forget that Amazon offers your money back withing 7 days if you're not happy with your Kindle book.
