This book was written for the scores of single-never-been-married women who are desperately seeking marriage. Are they aware of what being a man's wife really means? Are they prepared for a husband? If they knew what it really meant to be a wife, would they still want it? This book will advise single women on how to answer these questions for themselves. Excerpt: Taken from Section4 Little things - No one sets out in marriage contemplating a divorce. But, what if you did? Not in a morbid sort of way where you're setting yourself up with a death wish (speaking to the death of a marriage) but, in a realistic way of thinking of an 'every' case scenario. Ask yourself, "How would this man treat me during a divorce?" This is something most people don't consider. And when the person you were supposed to love forever turns into public enemy number one, it's difficult to process. When the man who was supposed to honor and cherish you is not only not wishing you well but is doing everything within his power to bring you down, it's enough to literally change your outlook on life, love, and relationships. You lose faith in romance and commitment. Say you pledged yourlife to a man who seems to be out to get you. The word "committed" will take on a whole new meaning-complete with straitjacket. When you're romantically involved in the beginning and still feeling the fluttering wings of butterflies in your stomach you would never guess that this same person would later call you out of your name, disrespect you in ways you would never imagine, plot against you, and sometimes even strike you. If you pay attention, there are always signs early on...

I Wouldn't Mind Having a Husband, I Just Don't Want to Be Somebody's Wife: The Single Woman's Guide to Self-fulfillment, by Elaine Flowers

About the Author A retired salon owner and hair stylist of more than 20 years, and it was always her dream to become a published author, creating stories with interesting characters. In 2002 it was realized when she became a fulltime writer, releasing her first novel, Black Beauty in 2004. In 2007, after weeks of negotiations, this bestselling author came out of her self-imposed exile, and signed with Hollygrove Publishing joining the literary team headed by national Best Selling Author, Brian W. Smith. Because her readers had been clamoring for her next work, Elaine decided to give them more than they expected. It's Morning: Torn Lovers and Their Stories (2008) is her second book, comprised of two novellas and one short story where each one has a love triangle with two men and one woman. This book is designed to make those who have followed her writing, rejoice that she has come back and those who had never heard of her, never forget her name. The long-awaited Broken Appointments will be Ms. Flowers' third work of fiction. Expected to be released at the end of 2010, this novel will be a spin-off of sorts with two of the characters from Black Beauty. Yes, more beauty salon drama. In the interim, this gifted writer is having great success with her first try at non fiction. I Wouldn't Mind Having a Husband, I Just Don't Want to Be Somebody's Wife: The Single Woman's Guide to Self-fulfillment is a self help e-book designed for single-never-beenmarried women who are egregiously seeking a husband. During her days behind the hydraulic chair, Ms. Flowers encountered many single women desperate to get married as well as many married women desperate to be single again. She wondered if single women knew what married women knew, would they still be so anxious to go down that road? Maybe, maybe not; but if they were equipped with the information of what it meant to be a wife they could have a new appreciation for their singleness while waiting for Mister to come along. Elaine Flowers is a divorcee of 20 years with an adult daughter, Erin (24) and son, Lexington (21).

4 of 6 people found the following review helpful. Great advice! By C. Monica In this book, author Elaine Flowers, reflects upon and shares her own personal experiences as a wife and lessons she's learned about what to do and/or not to do in a marriage in order to be a good wife. I highly recommend this book not just for single ladies, but also for women that are currently married and may want to improve in some areas of their relationships. For bridal showers, along with the gift I give, I also include a book by a famous author that I think all soon to be brides should read. From now on, I will give this book in it's place. It is a solid read and a great reference source!

1 of 2 people found the following review helpful. The Real title should be "I wouldn't mind being a wife, but nobody wants to be my husband" By ForLifeandLove Completely subjective, the only positive reviews on here have to be from either the author herself, or friends and family of hers. I completely agree with whoever said that it was a waste of time and money.I thought as a unmarried woman that this may be positive, uplifting, and encouraging to women and promote self encouragement, to not settle for incompatibility based on loneliness but instead, find comfort in being alone until the right type of gentleman comes along, and how to be patient in waiting for the right man, instead what I read was very different. This book is clearly written by an angry vindictive man hating woman who is trying to encourage others, and maybe even herself deep down, that it's ok to be incredibly picky, rude, unsupportive, and etc to men and that if they aren't bowing to your feet after being unpleasant to them (which who would?), that they are not good for you.I think this person had some very bad experiences with marriage, and instead of encouraging others to not rush into things and supporting women who choose to find relationships based on compatibility, love, truth, trust, and etc. she personifies marriage as a terrible experience, and almost condemns it entirely. This is incredibly biased and I feel that it puts a bad taste in womens mouth when it comes to the beauty of marriage. There could have been so much positive in this book, but in reality, it's just one angry womans bad experience turned into a simply written rant about why everyone should be just as miserable as her. Given what I read, it's a wonder she managed to find anyone ot marry her at all."This book will advise single women on how to answer these questions for themselves."I should have known with that redundant comment that it wasn't worth my time. How do you write a book that says it will advise you, on how to answer it yourself, by reading someone elses failed attempts at marriage? In short, it's a terribly pointless and one sided read and I am astounded that it was even published. I definitely will not purchase or read any other works by this so called "author"

Excerpt from A Discourse on the Studies of the University of CambridgeAgain, the Author tells us (p. That we see nature alike willing to go back and to go forward. Both effects are simply the result of the operation of the law of development in the generative system. No one denies the great modification of specific types from a change of external conditions: but when he appeals to a law of development in the generative system which produces a change of species, either on the ascending or descending scale, we can only state in reply, that we utterly deny the existence of any such law, or of a single fact whereon to build it. So far from being based on a wide induction of facts, (and without such induction the verbal expression of a material law is no better than a'mockery), the Author has not advanced so much as one unequivocal instance in support of it. The voice of all nature is against him.About the PublisherForgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. Although he had guided the young Charles Darwin in his early study of geology and continued to be on friendly terms, he was an opponent of Darwin's theory of evolution. [NOTE: page numbers below refer to a 209-page hardcover edition.]He wrote in the Preface to this 1833 book (a shorter form of which was originally delivered as a sermon in the Chapel of Trinity College), "[The author] has attacked the utilitarian theory of morals, nor merely because he thinks it founded on false reasoning, but because he also believes that it produces a degrading effect on the temper and conduct of those who adopt it... he thinks it unfortunate that there is no English work on morals at once unexceptionable in its principles, and cast in such as form as to meet the wants of the University." (Pg.vi)He asserts, "How any believer can deny the reality of a natural religion when he reads those passages [Ps. 139:7-12] ... is more than I can understand. We are told by St. Paul [Rom 1:23] that even the Gentiles are without excuse... Yet I have myself heard it asserted within these very walls, that there is no religion of nature, and that we have no knowledge of the attributes of God or even of his existence, independently of revelation." (Pg. 15)He observes, "Geology, like every other science when well interpreted, lends its aid to natural religion. It tells us, out of its own records, that man has been but a few years a dweller on the earth; for the traces of himself and of his works are confined to the last monuments of its history. Independently of every written testimony, we therefore believe that man, with all his powers and appentencies, his marvellous structure and his fitness for the world around him, was called into being within a few thousand years of the days in which we live---not by a transmutation of species (a theory no better than a phrensied dream), but by a provident contriving power. And thus we at once remove a stumbling block, thrown in our way by those who would rid themselves of a prescient first cause, by trying to resolve all phenomena into a succession of material actions, ascending into an eternity of past time." (Pg. 22-23)He suggests, "If, then, our planetary system was gradually evolved from a primeval condition of matter, we may well believe, that every material change within it, from first to last, has been but a manifestation of the Godhead, and an emanation from his immediate will---Or we may suppose, that new powers have, by an act of creative interference, been impressed on it at successive epochs of its changes; and that these new powers, working together with the old, MAY have brought about the next system of material conditions." (Pg. 24)He says, "Our classical studies help us to interpret the oracles of God, and enable us to read the book wherein man's moral destinies are written, and the means of eternal life are placed before him." (Pg. 31) He adds, "there is in the moral government of God much that is beyond the grasp of mere philosophy; and so teaches us to look beyond this world, and in the consolations of religion and the hopes of a future life to seek a better and higher sanction; and in the motives of Christian love to find a steadier and more abiding principle of holy action, than all the philosophy upon earth ever has given or ever can give to man in the hour of temptation." (Pg. 48)He argues, "I think that to reject the moral sense is to destroy the foundation of all moral philosophy---that the rule of expediency, as stated by Paley, is based in false reasoning on the attributes of God---that the rule itself is ill-suited to the capacity of man---that it is opposed to the true spirit of the Christian religion---and that, however honestly it may be accepted, it tends inevitably to lower the standard of what is right and good." (Pg. 68)He admits in an Appendix, however, that "if the Bible be a rule of life and faith---a record of our moral destinies---it is not (I repeat), nor does it pretend to be, a revelation of natural science... The Bible instructs us that man, and other living things, have been placed but a few years upon the earth; and the physical monuments of the world bear witness to the same truth... [If] the geologist ... proves... by incontrovertible evidence of physical phenomena) that there were former conditions of our planet, separated from each other by vast intervals of time, during which man, and the other creatures of his own date, had not been called into being. Periods such as these belong not, therefore, to the moral history or our race; and come neither within the letter nor the spirit of revelation. Between the first creation of the earth and that day in which it pleased God to place man upon it, who shall dare to define the interval? On this question Scripture is silent... Pursued in this spirit, Geology can neither lead to any false conclusions, nor offend against any religious truth." (Pg. 105)This book will be of interest to those studying the history of religious interpretations of science.

When Janey and Neil meet at the scene of a drive by shooting, a strong friendship quickly develops. Neil is a detective inspector with the London Metropolitan police force, a compassionate, respectful and moral man. Janey is an attractive, caring young woman with a troubled past. Both of them are happily married to other people - or are they? Take this longing tackles one of society's major challenges - abuse and control within marriage. While the term "marital abuse" typically conjures up images of physical violence, this book looks at other, sometimes quite subtle, forms. And when events take a turn for the worst, past and present collide with devastating effect....

Corporate school reforms, especially privatization, union busting, and high-stakes testing have been hailed as the last best hope for public education. Yet, as Kenneth Saltman powerfully argues in this new book, corporate school reforms have decisively failed to deliver on what their proponents have promised for two decades: higher test scores and lower costs. As Saltman illustrates, the failures of corporate school reform are far greater and more destructive than they seem. Left unchecked, corporate school reform fails to challenge and in fact worsens the most pressing problems facing public schooling, including radical funding inequalities, racial segregation, and anti-intellectualism. But it is not too late for change. Against both corporate school reformers and its liberal critics, this book argues for the expansion of democratic pedagogies and a new common school movement that will lead to broader social renewal.

Heart-Felt & Entertaining By David Reviews Author Julia Roberts, best known as a QVC UK presenter, brings us the second book in her Liberty Sands Trilogy. Another enjoyable read that sees Holly back and continuing her secret missions to exotic holiday resorts around the world. Following on from the first book Life’s A Beach And Then, which follows Holly’s passionate island romance with Philippe in Mauritius, she has some real-world family issues to confront. Plenty of relationship surprises for Holly, her son Harry and their friends new and old to sort out for the reader’s entertainment.Holly’s close relationship with her son is threatened when he begins to start to ask difficult questions about his father. Holly a single mother has avoided the subject all of Harry’s life but a turn of events makes him press for answers. How much should she tell him and where will it lead and what might the past stir up? Philippe’s growing success as an author is making him richer but not happier without Holly. Why won’t she see him and what did he do to make her cut him off and refuse to be found?Julia Roberts writes believable story-lines for characters that come across as real and imperfect. Love, rejection, heartbreak and betrayal befall us all and Holly certainly gets her fair share as she struggles to balance her emotions as the men in her life pull on her heartstrings. Holly’s story is captivating and emotional and leaves me looking forward to reading the third and final book of the series.

A must read for those going within and feeling that they are "awakening" By Kim Jackson Though we can understand some facts about the relationship of the different persons of the Trinity to one another, ultimately, it is incomprehensible to the human mind. For this, there ARE messengers between the Worlds in serving and protecting the people as the people wish; and even if they cannot comprehend~there is ALWAYS something we can ALL take away from another's personal experience. For those who are strong enough to stand against the criticism and ridicule, I commend you. As ridicule is the last argument of a FOOL. Michael gives a personal account of his awakening, which is to be commended~NOT criticized or ridiculed. There have been activation's for some time now, just as the Hopi Rainbow Prophecy and many other religious creeds have foretold. The Matrix is a system that shapes realities around you based on your own feelings, fears, desires, expectations, beliefs, emotions and thoughts and as the old 3D matrix system has been crumbling for sometime, it is now giving way to the new 5D matrix system and new earth of the future that is no longer EGO based and whether most human are unable to comprehend this or not~IT'S HAPPENING. This is the REAL MATRIX that Michael has AWAKENED to, which he has chosen to share in simple terms with the world, and I commend him in doing so. ANY true warrior knows: Strength of Character is the ability to overcome resentment against others to hide the hurt feelings and forgive quickly. "It isn't always about how much you can handle before you break, it's more about how much you can handle AFTER you've been broken."

By Laurennyc This book was a gift from me from a dear friend who had the opportunity to experience Michael Evan’s kindness first hand.... I will forever cherish it. Michael Evans is an extraordinary individual. His act of kindness defines what it is to be a selfless human being.Michael Evans' book, The Matrix hit home for me. I too was living in the same matrix. At the age of 9, I went through a horrific and life changing event that has forever shaped my life. I lost my father through another's act of violence. This tragic event caused “anxiety” and “depression” that plagued my life for much of my existence. I was deemed clinically depressed by a psychiatrist.... The medical professionals chosen by society to deem one acceptable or unacceptable by society's standards. I was put on innumerable anti-depressives and anti-anxiety medications. I was ignoring my consciousness by numbing it with pharmaceuticals that allowed me to remain hostage in this matrix. After 8 long of medicating myself to escape I finally questioned my existence. That was the day I decided to free myself and conscious.... to finally take a step into the afternoon of my life. I had a spiritual awakening that led me to seek professional help through therapy and meditation. This was not an easy task... I often remind myself of the road I had to take to finally arrive to my matrix.I purchased a copy to share as all proceed go to a children's charity.

Mr. Michael Evans explains all of the "negative" lies that we have been told all our lives that play over and over again in our subconscious. He said that these lies are, of course, wrong, but we have to do the work to reprogram our subconscious to think positivvely. We can't be envious of what other people have. We have to love everyone: that takes the negativity out of the picture. He has been doing this for a very long time. I recommend, no.... suggest, that you read it as soon as possible, so you can change your thinking to change your entire life for the better! I believe in him and I am going to follow exactly what he says. I opened my mail and received a $1 bill immediately after reading his book. It is not much, but it was an immediate response to Mr. Evans advice! This is just confirmation that this does work and is just the start of things to come!Thank you to Mr. Michael Evans and Word-Slinger for giving me an ARC copy of this book to read and give my honest review.
