The colors and details in this book are of high quailty, easy to turn pages allow my little guy to do it by himself. The book itself is really well made. Quite durable for little ones. Really a cute story too. Your little Transformers Rescue Bots fan is sure to be in awe. I know mine sure is.

By Grandma Zizzy We'll be adding several new "Rescue Bots" to our middle grandson's collection on his 4th birthday next month, one of which will be the new Deep Water Rescue High Tide transforming figure, and we think this little LB Kids "Passport to Reading" book is perfect to go along with several others from the Rescue Bots storybook series. We'd been really pleased with how a neat "I Can Read" Spider-Man themed series helped our oldest grandson when he was learning to read (Spidey was his big favorite back then), and think his younger brother - who just loves the Rescue Bots cartoon - is really going to enjoy these books! (Even if I think the imprinted $3.99 price is a bit high for such a thin, 32-page book.)Just as with the "I Can Read" series, there are levels in the "Passport to Reading" books that are geared toward a youngster's skill level. Level 1 has short words with simple sentence structures, nice to be shared with an adult who can sometimes give an "assist" when necessary; Level 2 encourages a youngster to sound words out loud, with more complex stories; when children are doing pretty well on their own, Level 3 has more complex sentences and higher word counts to help boost their confidence; the the fewer illustrations and longer paragraphs in Level 4 gets them ready for chapter books. He's got a good head start since we've been using his brother's books, but it'll be nice for him to have a set of his own!"Meet High Tide" begins with a space inside the front cover for your youngster to write his/her name, then four pictures are shown (submarine, fire, rock, leak ) for him/her to be spot as the story progresses. This one begins by explaining that the Rescue Bots (Heatwave, Chase, Boulder & Blades) are a special group of Autobots who serve and protect humans, and then describes High Tide who turns into a submarine, and also steers a ship that turns into a huge "Mega-Bot". While transporting the Rescue Bots to check out an old oil rig on the verge of falling apart, they get stuck in a whirlpool - High Tide comes to the rescue, an Autobot leader Optimus Prime explains that High Tide (along with his "helper-Bot", a robot dog named Servo) will be training them in water rescue. Heatwave's none too happy with this strict drill sergeant and storms off. But when the oil rig catches fire and oil begins leaking into the ocean, Heatwave returns, blasts through the flames to save the humans (Doc Greene & Frankie), and then High Tide and the Rescue bots employ teamwork to plug the leak.Though I did prefer how the "I Can Read" book series listed the Dolch "sight words" (the 220 most common words and 95 additional nouns in children's books) at the beginning of the book, serving as a nice review list, this one does contain 77 of them, with a word count of 488. In case you're interested, others in the Rescue Bot series are: Meet Heatwave the Fire-Bot, Meet Chase the Police-Bot, Meet Blades the Copter-Bot, The Mystery of the Pirate Bell, Return of the Dinobot, The Ghosts of Griffin Rock, Team of Heroes, Land Before Prime, Meet Optimus Primal, Bots' Best Friend, Blast Off!, and Attack of the Movie Monsters.
