Firemen don't free cats from trees anymore—until a pretty schoolteacher gets trapped on a limb with her kitten and the county's hottest firefighter comes to their rescue. Praise for Hook Me Up: “Hook Me Up by Adele Downs warmed my heart. Being a cat lover lol I couldn't pass up the chance to read about the 'damsel in distress with her kitten' to be rescued by the hottest fireman in the city. How can you go wrong with kitties and a handsome hero?” 5 Stars! ~ Ravannah Rayne "I was hooked from the start. There was *hand over mouth ‘O’ my gawd I would be so embarrassed, to grabbing tissues, to laughing out loud in this book. If you're looking for sex scenes and erotica you aren’t going to find that anywhere in this book. But the author has done such a phenomenal job building the chemistry between Knox and Lexi you don’t need it. The story is excellent without it. You will need your own fire hydrant to put out the flames that Knox and Lexi create in this story." 5 Stars! ~My Family's Heart Reviews "Hook Me Up - This story had a little bit of everything I look for when I'm reading a story. Good pacing, some humor and a hot hero. Knox is a complex man. He had a lot of depth and it was nice to see that he wasn't perfect. His flaws and his issues made him more real, which I appreciated. And even though the way they met was very unconventional, the pair make it work. A sweet story with a satisfying ending. I'll definitely be checking out what else Adele Downs has to offer." 5 Stars! ~Z Shaw "This book is marvelous, it cracked me up at the very first page...This is truly a sweet, touching and funny romance! If I could give it more than five stars I would! It is a must must read book!" 5 Stars! ~ Roxie's Reviews "Adele Downs writes with wit and emotion. Her characters are always lovable and HOT! She makes you want more." 5 Stars! ~Will Work For Books "Hook Me Up (Adele Downs) is a really quick story - it starts off with our heroine stuck in a tree! Of course, the sexy firefighter arrives to save the day! I loved the chemistry between these two - and the whole story just made me smile." 4.5 Stars! ~ Cat's Reviews

Hook Me Up was a pleasant surprise. I randomly stumbled upon this while searching for a Jill Shalvis book and am so glad I did.Hook Me Up is a sweet contemporary romance with drops of sexiness mixed in. I would rate this a PG-13 type of read. There wasn't any explicit sex (more fade to black), but this story didn't need it. I really enjoyed Knox and Lexi's story. I loved that despite how short it was, I got to know the characters well and their back stories. The scenes and story itself never felt rushed. It was perfectly paced and each scene flowed seamlessly into the other. I love reading romances about billionaires, shifters, etc, but sometimes I just like to go back to the basics and lose myself in a story about regular everyday characters. In Hook Me Up, I got to spend time with Lexi, a third grade teacher and Knox, a firefighter which was great.Another thing that I loved was that there was a lack of instant love. Instead, there was a gradual buildup to Knox and Lexi's romance which I appreciated. It felt genuine. Their chemistry was nice and believable without feeling forced. I enjoyed the butterflies, first dates and conversations between Knox and Lexi. I liked that we got to see their courtship and romance blossom at a realistic rate especially in a market where insta-love and insta-lust are dominating. As for the ending, this one ended on a HFN, but I had no issues with it. A HFN was definitely more fitting for these two. I liked that the author left the story open for possibilities. With that said, I wouldn't mind revisiting them again in a future novella. All in all, I fully enjoyed Hook Me Up. It was a nice, feel good and sweet romance that will satisfy any reader. I'm excited to discover this new-to-me author and look forward to reading more of Ms. Down's works.

By Leslie Anne Lighton Thanks to an unconventional introduction by a scaredy cat, a firefighter and schoolteacher overcome sad pasts and obstacles to rescue each other. Adele Downs’ novella HOOK ME UP offers a captivating romantic slice of life between two onetime strangers who learn much more about each other as sparks fly between them.Mourning his young niece’s death and sworn off women, Knox Townsend is dispatched to a fire call and finds an unfamiliar woman dangling bat like from a high tree branch from one leg wearing only a thong and purple lace swirling around her head. The new town resident is a refreshing change from the badge bunnies who pester Knox and his colleagues at the local watering hole.Mortified that her impulsive actions to chase her frightened kitten up a tree led Lexi Wentworth to be rescued nearly naked along with her cat by the sexy firefighter. New to town, she aimed to rebuild her life after being abandoned by her now ex-boyfriend at the scene of a car accident. After Knox and Lexi accidentally brush lips aboard a cherry picker before she is whisked away for a medical evaluation, both are smitten and focused on that forbidden kiss while each struggle to overcome an assortment of complications gung-ho on keeping them apart.Travel along with Knox and Lexi on the wild a roller coaster ride to see if he can break company fraternization rules and if she can overcome her checkered relationship history, so they can move into the future together.(An ARC was reviewed prior to this book’s release date.)

This book is a comprehensive study of the performance of the public school system in the state of Ohio from the years 2005-2012. Over 23,000 pieces of data were analyzed to secure the findings. This book describes a correlational study of the relationships between per-pupil expenditures and student performance as well as the relationship between student performance and the ability of high school graduates to obtain employment. U.S. high schools continue to perform behind other nations in producing graduates with the academic proficiency and skills needed for a global competitive workforce. The United States ranked 30th in math and 20th in reading among 65 countries worldwide in 2012. In spite of the mandates and initiatives that stemmed from the famous Nation at Risk report to the U.S. in 1983, that addressed the shrinking student skill levels, the U.S. is still a nation at risk.

The Magic Thief: Home, by Sarah Prineas

From School Library Journal Gr 4–6—In this installment, the young thief-turned-wizard Conn is not only back from exile but has also been appointed to the post of ducal magister by his friend (and Duchess of Wellmet) Rowan. Conn, hating the idea of living in a suite in the palace eating fancy food, goes undercover to discover who is stealing the magisters' powerful wizard stones—something that should be impossible. It turns out to be Conn's enemy Crowe, aided by treachery within Rowan's inner circle; his diabolical plot threatens to upset the delicate, uneasy balance between the two City "magics," which would lead to disaster. Fans of the series will relish Conn's return to his old gutterboy life, full of dirt and danger, though they might wish the plot had a bit more of Conn's friends Nevery, Benet, and Rowan in it. The protagonist's trademark uncommunicativeness with everyone around him is balanced by his voluble no-filters narration, and the back matter (including a hoity-toity palace menu scrawled with Conn's dismayed comments) adds to the charm.—Eva Mitnick, Los Angeles Public Library

From the Back Cover

Never look back!

Conn has come a long way since the days when he was a thief and a wizard's apprentice. He and the dragon Pip have saved the city of Wellmet from doom, and now Duchess Rowan wants to make him the ducal magister, the city's most important wizard. But the older wizards don't trust Conn . . . especially now that their locus magicalicus stones are disappearing! Once a thief, always a thief, they think.

To solve the mystery of the disappearing stones, Conn goes back to his beginnings—gutterboy, chimney sweep, mudlark, and, yes, thief. It's the only way he can clear his name and find the culprit. But turning back is not easy, and old enemies don't disappear. Can Conn pull himself out of the gutter one more time?

5 of 5 people found the following review helpful. Hail, Hail The Gang's All Here By Pop Bop When I pick up the fourth volume of a trilogy, (this series supposedly wrapped up with the third volume in 2010), I think of a performer waiting nervously in the wings after his act is done, waiting to see if the audience's applause is enthusiastic enough to justify an encore. With this series the audience was very enthusiastic and there was much disappointment that the Magic Thief trilogy had concluded. Well, Book 4 has finally been launched, and it was worth the wait.Everyone is back and we pick up right where we left off. Conn and Nevery and Benet and Rowan and Embre and Captain Kerrn, and that bad baby dragon, Pip, are all here, and the book takes off in a rush. By the end of Book 3 Conn had brought a new younger magic to supplement the older but weakening magic that had always powered Wellmet. As Book 4 opens, the two magics are not working well together, ("...like two dragons, both trying to fit into one dragon's space,..."), and magic is in considerable disarray. Rowan, the ruling Duchess, needs Conn to serve as ducal magister, (head wizard), and get a handle on the problem. Conn resists, and then when a locus magicalicus stone is stolen he is accused and his whole thief history comes back to the fore. Who is really stealing these magical objects, and why?I had forgotten how much I liked these characters. Rowan is the most competent, vulnerable, resourceful heroine I've encountered since Hermione Granger and her struggle to be a good ruler at a tender age is touching and inspiring. Conn is, as usual, a bit more angsty than I'd like, but once we move beyond that he remains a solid bad-boy hero. Every other character steps up to the plate in a satisfying fashion, so it's all good.As always Prineas has a good handle on her material, with a nice balance of magic, action, intrigue, Wellmet politics, humor and character development. On reflection, these books are actually pretty "sprawling" for middle grade fantasy adventure, but Prineas keeps everything sharp, clear and energetic, and completely accessible to a younger reader. So, it took a while, (Prineas has published her "Winterling" books in the meantime), but all's well that ends well. This is a solid entry in the Magic Thief series. Please note that I received a free advance ecopy of this book in exchange for a candid review. Apart from that I have no connection at all to either the author or the publisher of this book.

He is a very powerful wizard but, being only about twelve years old and not very tolerant of what he sees as stupidity, most of the other wizards really, really dislike him.His best friend Rowan is, at sixteen, the new Duchess of Wellmet and his cousin Embre is the Underlord who runs the Twilight part of the city. Rowan wants to "reward" Conn for his efforts to save and protect Wellmet by making him the Ducal Magister. Conn doesn't want the job and especially doesn't want to live in the Dawn Palace and be watched over.Additionally, someone is stealing the locus stones of the other magisters and most believe that Conn is the one responsible. Conn knows that he didn't do it and sets the problem aside to deal with the problem he believes is more important. The two magics that now inhabit Wellmet aren't working together and it is throwing off all the spells cast by any magicians. If Conn can't get the magics to work together, they could destroy the city. And, just because things can never be easy for Conn, an old enemy has returned who wants to defeat both the Duchess and the Underlord and take over the city himself. He doesn't realize that his plans could cause the destruction of the city he wants to rule.A big part of this story has Conn deciding what he wants to be and do. He doesn't fit back into the gutterboy lifestyle and he certainly doesn't want the Ducal Magister lifestyle. Once he gets a minute without a crisis he is going to have to decide what he does want. This is an excellent and entertaining addition to the Magic Thief series. Middle graders will love the action, the danger, the friendships, and the dragon. They will also enjoy getting to know Conn. The coded messages (key at the back of the book) will also intrigue readers. This series is a "must buy" for both my elementary and my middle school media centers. I can't wait to share it with my students.

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. it's a brilliant book in a fabulous series By M. Munoz This book has gone through four kids (ages 9-14) in my house in one week. I have to say it was little irritating to watch them all laughing, cringing and reading with a hand over the face. :) I was desperate to know which part they were reading, but was reading it next and didn't want any spoilers. I also had to ban any MT talk in the house in case I heard snippets, so they started to huddle outside to discuss it. As usual, it's a brilliant book in a fabulous series.P.S. I know the author has no real control over this but the book is also VERY pretty/ handsome (do books have gender?). The cover is a gray-green and the size is wonderful. Beautiful book. Looks great on the shelf (which I know does not matter in the slightest).

Financing Community Colleges: Where We Are, Where We're Going (The Futures Series on Community Colleges), by Richard M. Romano, James C. Palmer

Review Financing Community Colleges is a book that every community college leader, or aspiring leader, should read. Written by two long-time higher education scholars, it is an easily readable nontechnical introduction to issues relating to community college financing. The authors couch their discussion in the context of current and emerging policy issues and, in the process, summarize the results of the best research that has been done on community colleges and use this research to evaluate a variety of policy proposals. (Ronald G. Ehrenberg, director, Cornell Higher Education Research Institute (CHERI))A cogent review of financing issues and options that will help new and experienced leaders be better community college advocates at the policy level. I was going to give it to my CFO, but have decided to give it to all my Vice Presidents and Trustees. (Barbara Viniar, president, Chesapeake College, Wye Mills, MD)In this book, Richard Romano and Jim Palmer have produced what will become the gold standard in community college finance research for years to come. In this concise volume, they connect the world of finance to a host of current issues and challenges: from college quality, affordability, access, and outcomes straight through to mission of the community college itself. Reviewing thirty years of finance and policy research, and applying important findings to future projections, Romano and Palmer have written a must read for two-year college boards, administrators, scholars, and any stakeholder interested in how we might effectively manage resources and influence public policy in our turbulent political environment. (Sue Kater, special assistant to the chancellor, Maricopa Community Colleges and president of AACC’s council for the study of community colleges)

Why I Teach is an account of my life and the ability to persevere great physical, emotional and social obstacles to achieve my dreams and goals. There are accounts given of inmates including my younger brother who did not persevere to overcome the obstacles in life to achieve their goals and their dreams. Why I Teach gives a roadmap in how to overcome some of the greatest hills, mountains and valleys for those willing to make the right choices in life to avoid the criminal justice system. I visited numerous family members in prison and it had such a profound effect upon me that I knew prison or jail was not the place I wanted to be and certainly not the place I wanted to see others end up. As a teacher in a high poverty community, I see many of my former students making the wrong choices and going down the wrong road in life. I hope that this book provides an insider’s perspective for how youth can avoid the criminal justice system.

0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. which this book is in the best sense of the term By Prof. Centennius Disclosure: Edward Anderson is a colleague of mine at Oklahoma Centennial Middle/High School in Oklahoma City. He claims that he wrote this mostly as an act of personal therapy, which this book is in the best sense of the term. Mr. Anderson's book is very honest, almost brutally so, as he describes his personal history of a young man growing up with a mother who had emotional problems and in several foster homes, few of which were helpful. In spite of everything, Ed came out okay, and his book can serve as an inspiration for other young people to follow a similar path.Anderson benefited from having some very supportive grandparents. He also was lucky in that some of his youthful escapades could have had very bad consequences. Still, he was able to keep himself out of trouble to where he was able to join the army Military Police where he attained the rank of Captain. He also worked in the prison system and from there came to be a teacher in Oklahoma City where he works to help other young people avoid the trouble that ensnared his brother and nearly brought him down.An extra feature of the book is a series of letters from prison inmates, including his brother, warning young people not to follow their paths. The book has some editing problems and at times the narrative wanders away from a unified topic, but it is very easy to read in one evening. Young people could read this for their outside reading and greatly profit from it.

Heart-Felt & Entertaining By David Reviews Author Julia Roberts, best known as a QVC UK presenter, brings us the second book in her Liberty Sands Trilogy. Another enjoyable read that sees Holly back and continuing her secret missions to exotic holiday resorts around the world. Following on from the first book Life’s A Beach And Then, which follows Holly’s passionate island romance with Philippe in Mauritius, she has some real-world family issues to confront. Plenty of relationship surprises for Holly, her son Harry and their friends new and old to sort out for the reader’s entertainment.Holly’s close relationship with her son is threatened when he begins to start to ask difficult questions about his father. Holly a single mother has avoided the subject all of Harry’s life but a turn of events makes him press for answers. How much should she tell him and where will it lead and what might the past stir up? Philippe’s growing success as an author is making him richer but not happier without Holly. Why won’t she see him and what did he do to make her cut him off and refuse to be found?Julia Roberts writes believable story-lines for characters that come across as real and imperfect. Love, rejection, heartbreak and betrayal befall us all and Holly certainly gets her fair share as she struggles to balance her emotions as the men in her life pull on her heartstrings. Holly’s story is captivating and emotional and leaves me looking forward to reading the third and final book of the series.

We often find ourselves daydreaming about what our futures will be like. This may be especially true if one lives in an environment most would consider less than desirable. Some are lucky to find their futures much like their childhood dreams. Others find the paths to their dreams strewn with hurdles. Growing up, Sarah dodged her mother's blows. She often hid in her room crying about her life. Still, she believes in her future and the happiness it can bring. In their book, When Angels Fly, authors S. Jackson and A. Raymond tell Sarah's story - their stories. The authors use their journals to describe Sarah's experiences of family dys- function, strength, courage, faith, abuse, grief, and so much more. You'll read how, like many, she attempts to escape from her mother's abuse through marriage. And like many, she learns it is not a viable alternative. Then Sarah experiences a parent's ultimate tragedy twice, the deaths of her sons, Joshua and Eli. When Angels Fly is about much more than the telling of a family's tragedy. It is also the story of finding faith after it has wavered. Most of all, it's a story of love lost and found. After reading When Angels Fly, I realized how fortunate I am that my two children are alive and well. ~ J. Thayer McKinney, author, Haunting of LaBelle I can honestly say that no book that I have read in recent times has had the emotional impact on me that this book has had. I rode right alongside this mother from the first diagnosis of her child's illness, right through to the conclusion. Even before her child's illness, I had to keep asking myself; are there really parents out there who treat their children as horrifically as this woman's mother and her family had treated her? She went from an abused child, to a loveless marriage filled with physical, mental and sexual abuse, to losing her first child to a stillborn birth and then finally reaping the rewards with two beautiful young boys. Then little Eli was struck down with cancer. We follow his journey, step by step as the young mother attempts to keep her sanity, split her time between one child in hospital and one 250 miles away. You can feel her anguish and pain. The very people who should have been helping to ease her burden; her mother, her siblings and her soon to be ex-husband were so busy plotting and planning on how they could benefit from this turn of events, she was left to struggle along with support only from some special friends. This book is a harrowing read, make no mistake, but it is also incredibly rewarding. To anyone who has ever complained about how hard their life is - I say; read "When Angels Fly". To anyone who has ever said their life sucked - I say; read "When Angels Fly". The courage, fortitude and the immense challenges that this woman and her beautiful son faced, you can't help but be uplifted and reminded just how much we all have to be grateful for. The book is in a large part a daily journal of Eli's time in hospital and I totally understand the need the author felt to document every day - every day with her son was so very precious. The writing style was at times slightly hard to read, but nothing can take away from the powerful impact it had on me as a reader. I was truly moved by and genuinely felt everything this poor woman had to endure... mostly alone. Any other book that had these editorial issues would have only garnered four stars from me, but there's no way I could not give this five stars. The memories of Sarah, Noah and Eli will live in my memory well after I've consigned this book to the "read" shelf. I feel privileged to have shared Sarah's harrowing journey. When Angels Fly does exactly what it sets out to do I believe - it reminds us that "There but for the grace of God, go I". I recommend this book to all.... it will make you cry, but it will also uplift you. Well done. ~ Grant Leishman, Author, The Second Coming

3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Incredibly moving and emotional By Julie Haigh This memoir is so moving and emotional even from the very first page. No one should have to go through what the author has gone through. Such a sad tone, yet beautifully expressed. In her memoir the author tells of caring for a very sick son, who had been diagnosed with cancer. The author’s son was between 4 and 5 years old when he was diagnosed and going through chemotherapy and radiotherapy. It just doesn’t bear thinking about how awful this is-yet there are people going through this all the time. Being with her son at the hospital meant being separated for long periods from her other child who had to stay with a carer 230 miles away. It’s so hard. Add to that marriage ructions, arguments, lack of support of any kind from her family/mother and you just can’t imagine how it was for this lady. Unimaginable. She tells of hospital life, at her son’s bedside via entries in her journal at the time. How some people cope and still retain hope is incredibly inspirational. She now can appreciate the good she has had in her life, eg. her sons, even if she only had them a short time-and she now has a wonderful partner-she can see the difference as she's experienced such bad times too. She's a child in the 60s-same era as me. She rushed into marriage with a man who was far from ideal to get away from abuse at home by her own mother. From one lot of abuse into another with a violent, drunk husband. This is such a heart-tugging book. It's certainly not an easy read but you are carried along wanting to know more-how bad could it get, how many more things could be thrown at this woman and how would she ever get through them? The first part of the memoir was a more flowing style of writing then it jumps to where Eli is fighting cancer: These bits are told exclusively through diary entries. This section tends to be a bit repetitive sometimes but that reflects just what they’re going through-they have to do a lot of the same things every day, they’re in limbo, they don’t know if he’ll improve or not, it’s one long road of diagnostic tests, chemo, radiotherapy treatments and surgeries, blood test results daily etc. This is a very hard read. A very hard read indeed. One can only imagine the extent of the sorrow when something like this happens, when you’re right in the middle of it, going through it, living it. This is incredibly moving, you can't fail to be touched intensely by the final scenes. There is a good, hopeful ending after all the anguish though. The author is certainly a survivor. With all she has gone through, wow, I have no words, her memoir speaks volumes.

Tragic story of a woman and the abuse she suffered growing up and later in marriage. This book shows the struggles she faced while in an abusive marriage, losing two children, and one child's battle with cancer. She tells of hospital life while sitting by her sons bed and having to be miles away in distance from her other child. And how she finds true love and a man to love, cherish, help her through, and spend the rest of her life with.

3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. I highly recommend When Angel Fly By susan.vance Tissues are a must. A true story about pain and suffering. Life is not the same for anyone, and in this case it is so very tragic. A heartwarming story. I don't want to give anything away, but once you sit down to read it, you won't put it down. This is a must read book and a must share when you are done. I highly recommend When Angel Fly...

Fun read, awesome illustrations By Josh DeStefano First I have to confess that I'm very mechanical/technical, I've been building and wrenching on all kinds of things since I was toddler. Oh, and I've been facinated with flight and airplanes my entire life.Call me biased? Either way I really enjoyed this book. Unfortunately my kids are a little too young for this content (our oldest is 3yrs) to hold their attention. This book will be especially fun with my son. We're always pointing out planes passing overhead. I can't wait until we can sit down with this book and talk about how they work. What's cool is that it's done with a story with a few life lessons cleverly sprinkled through the storyline. It presents a good example of imagination, teamwork, planning, and overcomming your fears - the kind of stuff most parents want to teach their kids. That brings me to best part - the illustrations! They are very well done and extremely detailed. I love the "brainstormy" sketches and the close up explaination views. Very cool. You will feel like you could use this book as instruction manual and build an actual plane!Any child with an interest in aviation will LOVE this book. I wish I had it when I was kid. The only thing I'd be worried about is convincing them that you're not running out to the garage to build a puddle jumper.

By Hello Happy I’ve shared different stories of flights I’ve gone on with my kids, so when we see planes flying by, they’ll sometimes ask how this or that works. How to Build a Plane makes it easy for me to teach them about just how planes work. The story line of friends building a plane together is fun and engaging, and the diagrams are fantastic — with a clarity and warmth you rarely see together. There is also a section about how planes actually fly, and what the instrument gauges are for. I think this book would be engaging for children of all ages, especially if they have an interest in flight.

"These are the reasons I like How to Build a Plane By Misty How to Build a Plane is a delightfully illustrated book that combines a story of teamwork with scientific mechanics. My 9 year old wrote his own review. "These are the reasons I like How to Build a Plane. I like how it shows which parts are on the plane. Next is how the friends are very different. Finally is how the book is the opposite of most books because of how it is laid out."

And Granny Mavis threatening to bake Tom’s birthday cake (carrots!). And the fact that nobody seems to be noticing the long list of birthday presents Tom has prominently displayed. (Save for grouchy sisters By Young Mensan BookParade This is a book about a kid named Tom Gates who has an amazing life! (Save for grouchy sisters, bullies and embarrassing school discos). In the beginning Tom is having a great start to his day! But his plan to have fun is foiled with these two words “math lesson.”I think people of all ages would love this book. Even though kids ten and up would get the most out of this hilarious U.K. novel, the word art on each page really draws younger kids into the story.Because of funny twists in the story and characters kids can relate to, I will give this book 5 stars.Review by Maccabee, age 9, Atlanta Mensan

By RNS A guide by the Director of Off-Campus Studies (Jessica DuPlaga) and a Professor of Political Science (Jeffrey Lantis) at The College of Wooster to help students prepare for the academic aspects of studying abroad. Or, as they put it, "to view the preparation for overseas study, participation in an academically rigorous program, and the return home as parts of a holistic intellectual and emotional journey...[building] the discussion around a contemporary academic development approach to contextualizing knowledge about studying abroad." I know, there's a bit too much academic jargon there -- but, don't let the introductory text scare you. Thankfully, the rest of the book is written in a helpful, practical manner.Divided into six chapters:Ch 1 offers a brief history of studying abroad and provides a good context regarding the advantages and perspectives one gains from such an experience.Ch 2 focuses on providing guidance in choosing the best program for the reader and where information can be found to make such a decision.Ch 3 offers advice in how to best prepare for the experience and covers such practical matters as health, safety and keeping in touch with family back home.Ch 4 helps the reader fully understand the context of the experience, focusing on forging one's personal and cultural identity and advice as to how to best succeed in the "global classroom."Ch 5 covers "stages of reorientation," and how one might assess and reflect upon the experience.Ch 6 suggests ways in which participants can best "market" the experience in one's personal and work lives back home.Concludes with a lengthy list of resources selected to help readers plan and learn about their study abroad experience, chapter notes, a bibliography and index.Highly recommended for faculty participating in study abroad programs and students seeking to get all they can from academic aspects of such an experience. An excellent selection for college and university libraries with significant student involvement in study abroad programs.R. Neil ScottMiddle Tennessee State University

Unlike books which just say GO, this book assesses whether or not this experience is in line with your goals and aspirations, and it also aids students and staff to contextualize the study abroad experience. Ultimately it frames study abroad as a means to an end: study abroad will lead to opportunities to work in cross cultural fields and diverse populations. The book came in good condition, and as I got a used copy, I was quite content with the quality of the book. Thanks
