When Beatrix ‘Trix’ Daley loses her twin brother Bo in a tragic accident, she inadvertently gains his best friend, Penn, whether she wants him or not. Penn is the exact opposite of her brother. Obnoxious. Cocky. And out to sleep with as many women as possible. But he knows. He gets it. Because he lost Bo, too. Penn’s been going out of his way to piss off Trix since he was six. Twenty years later, and getting under her skin is still his favorite pastime. And Bo’s still the only thing that keeps them tied together. Even if he has been dead for eight years. For better or worse, Trix and Penn have been the constant in each other’s lives, and the line between love and hate continues to blur at a steady rate…but Trix is the last girl on earth a guy like Penn should fall for. So there’s no telling which side of love and hate they’ll wind up on when all is said and done. And whether they’ll wind up there, still together...or not.

Colora I'm glad I had a few days to think about this review and didn't post it directly after reading the book because I was seriously P’d off.I realized that I had to judge the book based on the content not my reaction to the ending so here goes. The writing is excellent. The editing and flow of the story is great, the character draw you in and you take the journey with them as their relationship develops, this books is absolutely great until the epilogue some people will read it and think it was a great twist for me I was just angry but that has to do with the fact that I like very clear cut happily ever aftersThis book is worth the read I would suggests not reading the epilogue.

By DawnD After reading, Last Girl, I thought, how can I possibly convey how beautifully unique this story is without coming across as cliche’ or using other people’s language?K.S. Thomas created poetry within her writing. Her use of imagery and metaphors caused me to pause for a moment of reflection. Almost all of the dialogue between the characters had clever sayings, maybe similes, too, if I remember the definition from H.S English class, that had me chuckling and praising her wit in my mind. So, now, I will attempt to be sort of, kind of, poetic when I compare the author’s writing in this book to a Vahz, yes, I’m talking about a vase, so bare with my quirkiness for a sec. lol Like a Vahz, the story was gracefully handcrafted and artfully presented, showing meticulous attention to detail. Penn and Beatrix "Trix”are beautifully flawed just like the cracks in an antique china doll, but unlike the doll, their cracks run far beneath the surface.“All I ever wanted was to be there to take care of you after you caught whatever was coming your way, so you can go back and catch more.”~PennA moment of silence…sigh..‘Last Girl’ shows how one can become entrapped in heartache and pain, and seemingly think that there is no way out. How a heart can sink to the very depths of the ocean without a glimmer of light. I was introduced to a whole new perspective of love and loss, with the underlying message that every heart can heal. In time, there comes a transformative moment in one’s life that allows that person to free themselves from the prison they punished themselves in.Okay, just one itty bitty cliché’. Expect the unexpected. Seriously, this book is no joke. ;) The epilogue showcases the writer’s obvious talent.I give, Last Girl, 5 stars written on a fogged up bathroom mirror. '

Bo was the fulcrum of their Love/ Hate relationship in life and and is the lynch pin of their relationship in death. In the beginning it is easy to see that their relationship is not healthy. It seems obvious that they should have gone their own way many years before and at the death of Bo should not have been enough to keep these two in any kind of relationship. Turns out that is true, Bo isn’t the reason. Each is in love with the other and must come to terms with it in his and her own way.The book is roller coaster of emotions for both the characters and the reader. This book is fantastically written and I want to be clear about that, because I spent most of the book thinking that the story just seemed too forced, something just didn’t ring true about it. The relationship, with its wide mood swings just seemed too unbalanced to work.I did eventually warm up to the love story and just when I was feeling comfortable with the everything-is going-to work-out conclusion that seemed to be coming as the end of the book loomed, I got kicked in teeth with one emotional twist after another. The ending had me spitting mad and realizing that it all suddenly made sense. I am not a huge fan of Nicholas Sparks style tearjerkers, but I am aware that they are wildly popular with a huge portion of fiction readers, so I am sure this particular book, though not my cup of tea, is destined for success.I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review
