I can't recommend highly enough, or do justice to a review of Dr. Henry Grayson's CD set The New Physics of Love, and also his book based upon it, entitled Mindful Loving: 10 Practices for Creating Deeper Connections," (published 2003). It would be helpful if the reader were acquainted with A Course in MIracles, In closing is a quotation from Dr. Grayson, "Every time we think, we set into motion the entire creative mechanism. Love is not so much an emotion as it is a conscious, willful decision we make."

About the Author

Jim Knight has spent more than two decades studying professional learning, effective teaching, and instructional coaching. He is a Research Associate at the University of Kansas Center for Research on Learning and the President of the Instructional Coaching Group. Jim wrote the first article on the topic of instructional coaching for The Journal of Staff Development, and his book Instructional Coaching: A Partnership Approach to Improving Instruction (Corwin, 2007) popularized the idea.  Jim edited Coaching: Approaches and Perspectives (Corwin, 2009) and co-authored Coaching Classroom Management (Pacific Northwest Publishing, 2010). Jim’s other books include Unmistakable Impact: A Partnership Approach to Dramatically Improving Instruction (Corwin, 2011), High-Impact Instruction: A Framework or Great Teaching (Corwin, 2013), and Focus on Teaching: Using Video for High-Impact Instruction (Corwin, 2014).Jim’s articles on professional learning, teaching, and instructional coaching have appeared in journals such as The Journal of Staff Development, Principal Leadership, The School Administrator, Kappan, and Educational Leadership. Frequently asked to lead professional learning, Jim has presented to more than 30,000 educators from six continents. Yoon manages to create visual dynamism despite the illustrations' static simplicity by changing the page layouts to include spreads with horizon lines, framed tableaux, sequenced action, and thought bubbles. The simple narrative offers an opportunity for prediction and allows for text-to-self connections at a very basic level. My toddler loves penguins, and the drawings looked positively adorable. I needed goodnight books that weren't too long and would hold his interest, so this seemed ideal. The story of a penguin going from South to North Pole is simple and cute. Easy to follow for a toddler, too. The artwork is positively charming, and I kind of just want to squeeze Penguin. The only reason for a reduction of a star is that there are a couple of pages where there is black text on dark purple or blue, and I have to squint to read it. The pages would have been better served with white text. It's a small gripe, but when my son is actually capable of reading, it would be a challenge for him to read those pages. Still, I would buy every book in this series. Super cute!

These were the first book my daughter sat down and paid attention when I read to her. (I started reading them to her as soon as she could sit on her own, about 6 months old) . The books are colorful and the illustrations are adorable and friendly looking. Each page has one, maybe two sentences, short enough to hold a child's attention span. I've also purchase two books from the same author about a bear.

I loved that this book stressed the importance of curiosity, adventure, and being glad to come home at the end of it all!

About the Author Passionate about helping people find jobs, careers, and God’s calling, Brian Ray founded Crossroads Career Network 15 years ago. The network grew to a national membership of churches with over 36,000 registered “career explorers and jobseekers.” Brian was also the founder and owner of Primus Consulting, a retained executive search consulting firm specializing in recruiting the right people for leadership. Formerly, Brian was Vice President and Executive Committee Member of the Chick-fil-A restaurant chain, where he was responsible for Human Resources, Operator Ventures and Administration. He is the author of marketplace ministry resources: Crossroads Career Work Book, Real Success at Work, New Job Jump Start and The Mastery of Leadership. Brian and his wife Kristy are founding members of Transformation Church in Indian Land SC.Derwin L. Excellent Resource for Job Seekers and Church/Ministry Leaders Alike By Amazon Customer Created for Good Works is an excellent resource for job seekers and church/ministry leaders alike to discover more about jobs, careers and God's calling. My family has personally experienced the timely support, wise guidance, and practical hands-on help of a Crossroads Career Network ministry in our local church. I am so grateful my church leadership saw the need (in fact as the book points out--the number one felt need) for people to have "good jobs" and that the Church can be a vital part of meeting that practical need while pointing people to their deeper need for Christ. Part career guide/ part ministry blueprint, this book is a must-have resource for anyone who lost their job, loves their job, hates their job or wants to help people experiencing any of the above. I would put one in the hands of every church leader I know if I could.

Bacon starts with Egg, Waffle, and Pancake. As his popularity grows, he interacts with all kinds of different foods, including Pie and Milkshake. Bacon starts driving a fancy car, powered by a child's hand, which sets up the final joke (and the empty plate). The deeper message about the fleeting nature of fame and the problem of being self-centered may be lost in all the slapstick humor, but kids will appreciate the clever tone. About the Author

Kelly DiPucchio likes her bacon well-done, served with two eggs over easy and a side of rye toast. She is an award-winning author of several children's books, including the New York Times bestsellers Grace for President and The Sandwich Swap. She lives with her husband and three children in southeastern Michigan.

Everyone loves bacon, including bacon. He starts to get a big head about himself and ditches his old friends. The ending is rather abrupt as bacon gets eaten, because everyone loves bacon. Fun book that will make kids laugh. Cute and colorful illustrations with a retro feel.
